Keep a finished game playable, paid for by its players.Alpha

The servers stay on after you move on.

When you stop supporting a game, the people who bought it do not have to lose it. They keep the servers running with an item in your own Steam store — and when they stop, the servers sleep instead of billing you.

Encore is in alpha. It runs today and you can use it — expect it to change under you, and tell us what breaks.

  • Encore itself is free — the servers are billed as usual
  • Sold through your own Steam storefront
  • Players choose to fund it; nobody is charged a subscription
  • Servers sleep, with everything kept, when funding runs out

Funded by the people who play

Players buy a “keep the servers running” item from inside the game. Every purchase goes to the servers, and nothing else on your account ever pays for them.

Your store, not ours

The item is sold through your own Steam storefront, in the player’s own currency, in an overlay they already trust. Players never see Plany.

Show players as much as you like

Tell them exactly how much is left, how many days it lasts, or only that the servers are funded. You decide, and you can change your mind.

Nothing moves if nothing has to

If the game already has its own home here, it keeps its addresses — so a copy of the game from years ago still connects. We tell you before anything would change.

Nobody pays for silence

When nobody is playing, the servers cost nothing. When the funding runs out, they sleep with everything kept, and wake the moment somebody tops them up.

A few lines in the game

Drop-in libraries for Unity, Godot, Unreal and Source, with nothing secret to ship. A player can only ever buy an item at the price you set.

Run it on Encore.

Pick one we already run, or point us at yours. Every plan comes with credit to spend, and you only spend it while people are playing.
