Know it is really them.

Know it is really them.

Your server already logs a player id. Passport is where somebody proves the account is actually theirs — through Microsoft's or Steam's own sign-in, in a flow you do not have to write.

What it will do:

  • Minecraft and Steam sign-in, with your own application
  • A lookup from the id your server already logs
  • No player token stored, ever
  • The first 1,000 linked accounts free

The id in your logs becomes a person

Look up the player key your server already prints and get back the player, with every account they have proved. No second identifier to keep in step.

Plany keeps no token of theirs

The sign-in runs once. We read the profile, record the account id, and throw the access and refresh tokens away — so nothing we hold can act as your player anywhere.

One person, several accounts

Minecraft and Steam on the same player. Two Minecraft accounts somebody actually plays on. They are one person, and a lookup from either finds them.

Your application, your consent screen

You register the Microsoft or Steam application, so the screen your players see says your game’s name. We hold the credential in Secrets Manager and never give it back.

Unlinking is reversible, forgetting is not

Withdraw a link and the account frees up for whoever really owns it, while who held it and until when stays on the record. Forgetting somebody is a separate, deliberate act.

Four legs you do not have to write

Minecraft is Microsoft, then Xbox Live, then XSTS, then Minecraft Services. Each fails for a reason the last could not see. We do all four and tell you which one refused.

Passport is on its way.

There is nothing to sign up for yet. The rest of the platform is running today.
